Off to Preschool this morning! Christopher and I had a very special morning going to his first day of Preschool together. It was a slow start day for the parents to get an opportunity to go into the class with them. I was fortunate enough to have our friend Judy come to watch Gwenn so I could go alone with Christopher. He did pretty good. Christopher gets latched onto things quickly, so it did not surprise me when he latched onto the dinosaur sand box! When some other children came over to play and share them, he had a melt down! This is why we are in Preschool.....to learn social skills and I'm confident Christopher will get it....soon. I almost started to cry too when this happened. Of course all eyes are on you and your child at this point, watching to see what you are going to do to handle the situation. Well at that point the melting had become boiling, so I quickly removed him from he situation and redirected over to the books where we sat together and read, (ironically enough) "The Mine-o-saur!" A clever book all about a dinosaur that chose not to share, but in the end changed his mind. We let the morning and classroom on a better note encouraged through Teacher Kim- whose smile and expertise could put any Mom at ease! We have a full day on Thursday, which we look forward to again!
