Christopher has had a big year. He's been in his own bedroom now since before he was 2, and it's something he likes. If ever you come to our house- he'll want to show you his room. Christopher still loves trains. It's the main entertainment in the form of a toy for him during the day. He also like dinosaurs, Lincoln Logs and Legos. We fill our days up with building train tracks, log houses and towers, reading books, watching cartoons, walks on our road, playing outside, painting, cooking, cleaning. Yes cooking and cleaning. Christopher is an amazing child always asking if he can help- even cooking and cleaning! He's sweet and stays real close to me all day. He follows me non stop throughout our home and outdoors talking to me and helping me always. He's learning how to be polite, dress himself, take initiative himself to use the bathroom. He's known his colors, most shapes, ABC's, 123 to almost 20 for quite awhile now too. Soon we'll be working on lowercase letters and sounds of letters. He knows his full name and his address. (He can sing you the song I taught him to memorize our address- it's cute!)
Christopher has a tough time transitioning from one thing to the other. Too abruptly could result in a fight. He has not mastered giving up his focus on a toy to say- go potty! He'll just hold it forever or even have an accident before taking a break from an activity to let his pee out! He clings to toys and his blanket. I shake my head at how he'll carry 1/2 dozen toys in his arms and drag his blanket around with his while following me throughout the house!
He's a good big brother too. Christopher asks if he can hug an kiss Gwenn. He hands her toys- but also takes them away. It's a regular statement now for me to ask Christopher, "Will you please just let her sit there and play with her toys and stay out of her face?" - Normal brother stuff. He also jumps over her a lot- which freaks me out! One of these days he's gonna land right on her hand or foot- hopefully not her head right?! I caught him dangling his foot over her as if he was gonna stomp on her. I said "no" to him and there was the typical, "I didn't do anything" statement from his 3 year old lips!!!! Nonetheless, he still is the only one who can make her laugh the hardest.
He just got a hand-me-down bike from his cousin Brock, but still needs to learn how to ride it.
He's not taking naps now and I can honestly say- he's better without one. Sometimes he's get tired in the after noon and he'll just want to snuggle up and watch his favorite cartoon- Mama Mirabelle. But most the time his attitude is consistently good throughout the day. When he was still taking naps he needed time to adjust before and after the nap!
He went to the dentist for the first time about a month a go - great looking teeth!
Christopher will say the dinner and bedtime prayer out loud now- beginning to end.
The other day Christopher was watching Reed eat and asked him,"Who's is in your hair Daddy?" You know when your temple on top side of your head throbs while you chew something? This made him think that there was someone in Reed's hair!
He put his shoes on for the first time by himself last week.
He's understands teasing already.
He brings me a flower (usually a daisy) whenever he goes outside. "I bring a flower for you Mama," he'll say. The other day he did same for Reed!
He kept calling a bee hive a bee humper?
On a walk after rain we had mud puddles on the road and he called them, "muddles."
We were watching the horses on our road and I pointing out to him that one was going potty, and he said, " Yeah, just like me!"
I picked Christopher up to my lap for our morning book time and made the statement, "come here little boy," as I did it. He then said, "I'm a sweet boy- God made me."
He blew out his 3 candles as soon as I set the cake in front of him!
