We traveled South this Labor Day weekend. Thanks to our dear friends, Pat and Jimmy (my former employers) We were able to stay at their home in LaCenter while they too were getting away for the weekend. :)
First, we visited Joe and Jackie Chumley, long time family friends. They live in Battleground - a short drive from LaCenter. Below are pictures from that evening of catching up and eating some good-ol-texas-sized portions for dinner!
Here's Joey and his son Body. (Sorry guys if I'm spelling his name wrong)
Fact: Joey and I grew up together since birth!
Group shots, from left to right: Me, Reed, CR, Joey holding Body and his wife, Danielle.
CR, Me, Joey and Body
Me and Aunt Jackie (close enough)
Next, we visited Reed's brother, Ryan, and his family for dinner. No pictures of that, sorry- just playing with the kiddos, men working outdoors splitting, stacking firewood and dinner. Doesn't get an ordinary than that.
Then we visited with our good Friends who flew out from NY for a family wedding. Mike and Shannon live in Clifton Park NY. They have two girls, Micaela(3) and Alexis(1). We all met at OMSI http://www.omsi.edu/?gclid=CLeNwd7_x5UCFQ77iAodO3RTiQ Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, Oregon. A good time for the munchkins. Below are pictures. We love these guys!!
This is Alexis and Christopher playing the water exhibit. Correction: Christopher splashing so hard he soaks himself, Alexis and total stranger children- causing their parents to forfeit the exhibit to our party!
Below: Video to prove that no one is near the child who likes to splash! The boy knows how to clear an exhibit all to himself!
Micaela and CR at water exhibit
Christopher getting up close and personal with Alexis, who's just a month younger.
Christopher with Reed at the Dinosaurs Exhibit
Fact: Christopher really like Dinosaurs!
Here we are leaving OMSI- 4 hours later! The children were wiped out - so was I!
Below: Reed with Micaela - Mike and Shannon strolling some kids. Yes, Christopher is in a Dora stroller. Hola, mi amo Christopher - Adios!!

CR looks cute in that Dora stroller! I am sure that made Reed proud! Jerry would have croaked on the spot! I LOVE, LOVE the wreath! What a good idea! I dry my herbs, but have never done anything more than cook with them. I shoudl try something like that. I bet it smells wonderful! We sure miss you guys! Give CR a kiss for us!
Wow! You guys have certainly been busy! Crazy seeing Joey again, been a long time....
