Our Fourth of July started out by traveling south to Longview, where my Dad lives. We had great food and fun at my Dad's and walked around the Lake Sacajawea next to his house. The city had a carnival of sorts and logging competitions. That night we walked to the lake again where we watched a great fireworks show. Christopher was in awe and surprisingly slept through the "after fireworks" noises from the neighborhood. Christopher also decided to say his first version of Grandpa. Which is more like "brapap" than anything else, but still - we were excited! Here's Christopher petting the ponies and other pixs we shot at the lake.

The next part of our weekend we drove to Stevenson, Washington and statyed 2 night at the Skamania Lodge, where we were married. The next shots are there. I really like this picture of CR on the window sill. I tried to get a picture of him looking out onto the Columbia River and the wedding that was taking place right at that moment. This is the spot where we too we married and it was memorable to be there.
Here's Christopher coloring (scribbling) as we ate our food fast, so that he was not restless!
We got a surprise call from my brother Christopher, who I knew was traveling here with his family- I just did not know when they would be close. As it turns out Christopher drove solo about 7 hours (he was in Bellingham when he called) to see us in the Gorge! We hiked and ate and played out on the front lawn at the Lodge. Our Christopher was just an angel while we played croquet and frisbee for a couple of hours!! He just loved it- crawling around us outside. We had so much fun!
I just love surprises!
This is Christopher my brother and Christopher my son!
And this is my brother showing my son all about knives..... :)
